Mount Falcon in Ballina joins forces with Mayo Manchester

The prestigous Mount Falcon Estate in Ballina has joined forces with the award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest to stage a special free promenade performance by the group on the August Bank Holiday Monday, 6 August at 2pm. The performance will feature an outdoor perfromance and parade by The Fianna Phadraig Pipe band who are the UK's longest running Pipe band and celebrate their 70th anniversary with a tour of Mayo during this years week long mmtradfest. The band are one of the few Pipe bands in the world of having the honour of being invited to play in both the 50th and 100th year celebrations of Ireland's Independence in Dublin.

Joining the band are Irish Singer, Songwriter Joe Keegan who shot to fame with the hit BBC TV show The Voice, Joe will be performing songs from his debut EP 'Pick Myself Up'. Irish singer Marian Waldron will also be performing at the event, Marian has just come back from New York to release her new single 'When New York was Irish' which she will be performing during the afternoon. The afternoon will be hosted by Alan Keegan, The Voice of Old Trafford at Manchester United.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented "It is great to be working with The Mount Falcon Estate again, we last worked with them on The Mayo Manchester Gathering in 2013 which won Tourism Ireland's Gathering of the Year, so its great to bring the MMTradfest to the hotel in the heart of Ballina. It promises to be a great family orientated afternoon to celebrate the Bank Holiday Monday."

The award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest is Ireland's biggest Tradional Irish Music, Song and Dance Festival with over 100 events, featuring over 500 performers from Manchester and Mayo. The week long festival runs fron Thursday 2 August to Wednesday 8 August and will visit Achill, Attymass, Ashford Castle, Ballina, Bonniconlon, Castlebar and Westport.
