The Ganley Sisters from County Mayo kick start this years Irish Festival in Manchester by staging two Sean Nós and Jiving workshops in the Chorlton Irish Club on Saturday 3 March.

The award winning dancers who have been featured on a number of TV shows including RTE and TG4 will be staging an Adult Sean Nós (12.15) and Jiving workshop (1pm) and a Children's Junior Jiving workshop (2pm) and Sean Nós workshop (2.45pm). The Adult classes are just £7 each or the two classes are just £12, the children's classes are just £5 for each 45 minute session.

Tony Hennigan from Mayo Manchester commented "We must thank the Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing and the Chorlton Irish Club in Manchester for helping us arrange these special Irish Dancing workshops with the Ganley Sisters. The award winning dancers are always involved in our annual Mayo Manchester Tradfest which takes place in Mayo from the 2nd to 8th of August so when they told us they wanted to come to Manchester, we were only too pleased to help them out. Everyone loves watching them Barrel and Brush Dance and it is great to see them sharing their skills and expertise with the dancers here in Manchester. I am looking forward to having a go on the Barrel myself."

Sandra added "We are really exicited about visiting Manchester and meeting up with everyone involved in the Mayo Manchester Tradfest and all our relatives and friends who live in the city."

Sandra and Laura run Sean nos classes all over Mayo and run the National Jiving Juniors Academy which has now branched out into almost every County in Ireland. Their visit to Manchester will also coincide with their attendance at the annual Mayo Association of Manchester Dinner Dance before they fly off again to tour the USA with Wild West Tours in March.

Sean Nós dancing meaning 'Old style' is the traditional style of dance in Ireland. The rhythmic steps are kept very close to the floor, with loose upper body movement. It has become extremely popular in the last few years.

To book the Sean Nós or Jiving workshop, just email sandraganley@live.ie stating which class and time you would like to book, places are limited and early booking is recomended.
