Mayo Manchester to celebrate Claremorris Centenary

The 2018 Mayo Manchester Tradfest will make a special visit to Claremorris on Sunday 5 August to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Claremorris Show.

The Concert will be staged at the Claremorris Theatre Sunday 5 August

The concert will feature the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band, Joe Keegan from the BBC TV Show The Voice from Manchester, Marian Waldron as seen on Sky TV, Peter Mylett who is showcasing his new hit song about The Greenway and a host of award winning musicians, singers and dancers from Mayo. These include The Turley Duggan Academy of Irish Dance, Joe Beirne from Midwest Radio and local musicians. The evening will be hosted by Alan Keegan from Manchester United Football Club.

The award winning Mayo Manchester Tradfest will be making their Claremorris debut at this special gala concert. The week long festival of Traditional Irish Music, Song and Dance is now in its sixth year and has already won Tourism Ireland's Gathering of the Year and the International Mayo Award. It is a unique celebration of Manchester and Mayo's traditional talent.

The award winning Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band are celebrating their 70th Anniversary as the UK's longest running Pipe Band, they are one of the few Pipe bands in the world of having the honour of playing at the 50th and 100th Irish Independence celebrations in Dublin.

Irish Singer/Songwriter and accomplished Dancer and instrumentalist Joe Keegan shot to fame on the BBC TV Show The Voice when he taught Kylie Minogue how to Irish Dance live on National TV as well as singing his own song 'Pick Myself Up'. He has since gone on to record two further albums and headlined this years Manchester Irish Festival which is one of the biggest Irish Festivals in Europe.

The Manchester based Irish Country singer Marian Waldron as seen on Sky TV has just released her debut album 'With You' and has just come back from a tour of New York City.

Manchester United Football Club TV presenter and Stadium announcer Alan Keegan who is known as 'The Voice of Old Trafford' will be flying in for the concert direct from Manchester United's tour of the USA, he might even bring a few items of Manchester United memrobilia from the tour with him.
