Manchester United stars get behind Charity Event in Ballina

Alan Keegan who Manchester United's Football Club stadium announcer has managed to get a host of United stars to sign an exclusive shirt for the special charity concert in Ballina.

Alan will flying straight from his tour of the USA with United to Ballina in August to help launch this year’s 2017 Mayo Manchester Tradfest. Alan will once again host the 6 Day festival’s Gala Concert on Saturday 5 August at the Ballina Arts Centre. This years 5th annual MMTradfest Concert will be a special Charity Concert to raise funds for the families of the 22 people killed in the recent terrorist bomb in Manchester, which also injured 250 people, many of whom were very young.

When asked about how he got the stars to sign the exclusive shirt he replied "As soon as they found out that we were raising funds for the WeLoveManchesterEnergencyFund they were queuing up to show their support. It's a very special piece of memorabilia for anyone to win at the concert. I was only too happy to help."

Known as 'The Voice of Old Trafford' he has been announcing the world famous football stars at Manchester United and the National team’s Wembley since 2000. He is also an accomplished TV and Radio broadcaster and accomplished Irish author who has been involved with promoting Irish culture in Manchester for over thirty years.

Performers from Mayo include: The award winning Centre Stage Vocal Academy, Irish dancers The Ganley Sisters, plus Sean Nos Dancer Tommy Stenson as seeen on RTE, Patrick Lacken from the Heroes for Hospice group and Dennis McCalmount.

Performers from Manchester include: Joe Keegan from the TV show The Voice, The Keegan Academy of Irish Dance who are trained by Lord of the Dance star, James Keegan and his sister Louise plus The Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band and Marian Waldron.
