Foxford to stage its own Free 'Electric Picnic'

Foxford to stage its own Free Electric Picnic Music Festival

During this years’ 2018 August Bank Holiday weekend, 16 Bands will be taking over the Hideout Bar in Foxford on Sunday 5 August to stage its very own free version of Ireland’s Electric Picnic Festival. The family friendly event starts at 2pm and has been organised by Mayo based new music promotions company ‘Working Titles’ who have not only put together a great line up of bands but have also managed to persuade ‘Yeast meets West’ to stage a Beer Festival to coincide with the music festival at the venue so that visitors can sample some of Mayo’s premier craft beers whilst listening to the bands.

With an indoor and outdoor stage alongside the beautiful River Moy which runs alongside the venue’s outdoor beer garden with its own BBQ to feed the hungry music lovers, a setting which even Electric Picnic would not manage to beat. The festival has a mixture of music genre on offer with a more chilled out vibe during the day aimed at a family audience, whilst the Rock and Punk bands will take over the night time.
Organiser Alexa McCalmont commented “We just wanted to give a platform to local Mayo and Connaught artists and to stage a free festival that would be accessible to everyone. There has been a great response from the bands and solo acts and we were delighted that Yeast meets West came on board as well, they are doing some fantastic work to promote craft beers in Mayo and have been really supportive, we cannot thank them enough.”

The line-up of bands confirmed to date include: Oscar Mild, Dennis McCalmont, The Well Dressed Hobos, Forsaken Band, The Light Staves, Aiden Bolger and Band, Brónagh McHale, Jon Seabright, Solemn Oath. Low Fall. Nerves, TV SHOW, Bob Doyle, The Young Ones, Nerves and Alps Band.
