Mayo Manchester Concert in Lahardane
The 2016 Mayo Manchester Tradfest will make a return trip to Leonard's Pub in Lahardane village on Tuesday 2 August for a special early evening concert from 7pm-9pm.
The last time Mayo Manchester visited the village which is home to the world famous Addergoole Titanic Memorial was in 2013 with James Keegan - The Lord of the Dance and the Keegan Academy of Irish Dancing and musicians and dancers from Atlantic Rhythm. This year MMTradfest are bringing the Irish singer and Dancer - Joe Keegan from the BBC TV series 'The Voice' and the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band along with some local musicians and dancers. Leoonard's is a traditional Irish Pub with its own unique shop and bar at the front and a large concert room at the rear of the venue. On our last visit we even had some table dancing, so make sure you bring your dancing shoes if you want to join in. Guest musicians, singers and dancers are welcome at this free concert.
The picturesque village is nestled below the Nephin Mountain range just outside Pontoon and its abundance of lakes, the village is also home to the newly open Nephin Whiskey Distillery. It is about a 25 minute drive from Ballina, take the Foxford Road from Ballina and drive through Pontoon, the scenery is breathtaking, allow yourself some extra time to pay a visit to the Titanic Memorial which is just next to the pub.
